An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Fábio Barbosa in the 27th minute of play forced Campo Grande Football's goalkeeper Raúl Neiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 48th minute Floresta Club were awarded a corner. Dinei Paraibano went to the cornerflag to take it. Floresta Club's Dinei Paraibano was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Raúl Neiva in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luís Fabiano Ramalho to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute Ismael Mesquita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedrão Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 58 played minutes Floresta Club got a freekick which was hit by Ademar Mesquita. Ismael Mesquita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
