The supporters of E.C.Vitoria booed when Floresta Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frederico Pinheiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Válter Queiroz's late challenge caught a E.C.Vitoria's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Válter Queiroz helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Floresta Club getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Válter Queiroz hit a great ball. Pedrão Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antônio das Neves in the 15th minute of the match. Márcio Matos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luiz Fábio Barbosa in the 17th minute. Jerônimo Soares charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jerônimo Soares the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jerônimo Soares hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Antônio das Neves took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pedrão Costa. Pedrão Costa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 30th match minute, E.C.Vitoria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ademar Simões to maneuver through the defense. Pedrão Costa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diego Mazza in the 34th minute of play. If Diego Mazza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Wellington Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luís Fabiano Ramalho was extremely unlucky when he, in the 47th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out.

The wind increased when Antônio das Neves made the kick off in the second half. Diego Mazza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedrão Costa having to interfere. Márcio Matos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Fabiano Ramalho in the 55th minute of the match. E.C.Vitoria's Márcio Matos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Fabiano Ramalho in the 57th minute of play. If Wellington Borges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wellington Borges recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 73rdth minute of the game Luís Fabiano Ramalho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but E.C.Vitoria's Márcio Matos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Aníbal Gaspar kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Zé Valle was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 81 minutes into the match. After 81 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for E.C.Vitoria! The referee gave Floresta Club a penalty, 84 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Dinei Paraibano, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of E.C.Vitoria's Márcio Matos. 2-1. Wellington Borges fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedrão Costa having to interfere. Floresta Club succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though E.C.Vitoria had controlled the match.
