In the 8th minute Wanderson Maia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erik Meirelles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wanderson Maia in the 14th minute of play forced São José FC's goalkeeper Erik Meirelles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ian da Silveira charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ian da Silveira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 15 played minutes Intersteam got a freekick which was hit by Ian da Silveira. Erik Meirelles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wanderson Maia in the 27th minute of the match. Robinho Batista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Pedro Dionísio having to interfere. If Robinho Batista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. São José FC's Jarbas Carioca got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Robinho Batista's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but José Pedro Dionísio was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. In the 43rd match minute, Intersteam was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Roberto Leão to maneuver through the defense. Jarbas Carioca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Robinho Batista made a kick off. The supporters of São José FC booed when Intersteam was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Roberto Leão didn't get a good kick on the ball. Franklin Miranda charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Franklin Miranda the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Intersteam's Zé Roberto Leão got his second yellow card of the match in the 62nd minute. The referee ordered Zé Roberto Leão off the ground. São José FC's attentive Diego Xavier managed to snatch the ball when Ian da Silveira made a throw-in in the 81st minute of the game. In the 82nd minute of the match Diego Xavier sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but José Pedro Dionísio skillfully saved the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Intersteam's zone, Dida da Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Pedro Dionísio came out of the goal and Dida da Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Jarbas Carioca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 87 minutes of play, São José FC's Dida da Costa made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. José Pedro Dionísio was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 90 played minutes, São José FC's Douglas Faria shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper José Pedro Dionísio came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in São José FC reached it. Dida da Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. São José FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
