The referee ignored Santos De Lima's protests and gave Edvaldo Perez a yellow card for diving instead. Wanderson Maia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. João Francisco de Brito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carlos Paraense was the one to do the kick off. The Santos De Lima fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. 86 minutes into the match, Santos De Lima's goalkeeper João Francisco de Brito had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luiz Fabiano Matorin. In the 92nd minute Carlos Paraense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Pedro Dionísio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. José Pedro Dionísio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Paraense in the 97th minute of the match. In the 98th minute, Zé Roberto Leão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. For all the effort they put into the match, the Intersteam players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Santos De Lima.
