Jarbas Carioca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albertinho Félix having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Robinho Batista managed to get in a good position for a shot. São José FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Robinho Batista was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Albertinho Félix breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Erik Meirelles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Francisco Magalhães in the 7th minute of the match. São José FC's Erik Meirelles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Francisco Magalhães in the 16th minute of play. Erik Meirelles came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Pirarema FC's Joel Torres. But to his dismay, Joel Torres quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Rodrigo Donatello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Francisco Magalhães in the 39th minute of play forced São José FC's goalkeeper Erik Meirelles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 41 minutes into the match, João Francisco Magalhães notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of São José FC's Erik Meirelles. Erik Meirelles was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The throw-in from Miguel Vieira in the 44th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by São José FC's Diego Xavier. A collision led to Pirarema FC getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Mauro Trigo hit a great ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Robinho Batista made a kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Robinho Batista in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Albertinho Félix prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Pirarema FC's Albertinho Félix played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robinho Batista in the 55th minute of play. In the 56th minute, Vágner Abreu made a precise shot to the right of Albertinho Félix. Pirarema FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Pirarema FC's goalkeeper Albertinho Félix, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jarbas Carioca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 75 minutes of play, Pirarema FC's Joel Torres made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Erik Meirelles was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Torres in the 79th minute of play forced São José FC's goalkeeper Erik Meirelles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Dida da Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Pirarema FC's goalkeeper Albertinho Félix, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 85 minutes of play, São José FC's Diego Xavier made it 3-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Albertinho Félix was left in no man's land by his defense there! João Francisco Magalhães came free with the goalkeeper in the 89th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Erik Meirelles could save by the left post. São José FC's Erik Meirelles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anselmo Mandrak in the 91st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when João Francisco Magalhães got free with Erik Meirelles in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
