The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rafael Souto showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Zaion F.C.'s Matheus Gaspar got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wanderson Maia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eriberto Berger in the 23rd minute of play forced Intersteam's goalkeeper José Pedro Dionísio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luiz Fabiano Matorin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 30thth minute of the game Wanderson Maia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Zaion F.C.'s Rafael Souto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Renato Massa charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Renato Massa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Zaion F.C.'s Renato Massa got a free kick in the 34th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Matheus Gaspar made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wanderson Maia in the 61st minute of play forced Zaion F.C.'s goalkeeper Rafael Souto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Wanderson Maia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Intersteam's Luiz Fabiano Matorin got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 76 minutes into the game, Intersteam's Luiz Fabiano Matorin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rafael Souto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. In the 81st match minute, Zaion F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oswaldo Soares to maneuver through the defense. Reinaldo Tinoco took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 82nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rafael Souto. Zaion F.C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Matheus Gaspar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Jorginho da Mata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luiz Fabiano Matorin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Souto having to interfere. After having played for 93 minutes, Luiz Fabiano Matorin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Intersteam's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luiz Fabiano Matorin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eriberto Berger could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but José Pedro Dionísio made a huge save. When Wanderson Maia came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Intersteam fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wanderson Maia couldn't finish the play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Intersteam fans cheered their team off the field, for while Zaion F.C. had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
