Rogério de Queiroz hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Pirarema FC's Joel Torres got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 14th minute, Luís Fabiano das Neves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If André Luiz de Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 23rd minute, Felippe da Mata reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Albertinho Félix. The goal made the score 1-0. The audience was convinced that Joel Torres's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Evaristo Rocha was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Clube Atlético Jalesense's Rogério de Queiroz got his second yellow card of the match in the 27th minute. The referee ordered Rogério de Queiroz off the ground. After a rather tough play, Clube Atlético Jalesense's Luís Fabiano das Neves got a free kick in the 32nd minute. When Luís Fabiano das Neves came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Clube Atlético Jalesense fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Fabiano das Neves couldn't finish the play. Clube Atlético Jalesense's Evaristo Rocha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Torres in the 44th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Pirarema FC's zone, Luís Fabiano das Neves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Albertinho Félix came out of the goal and Luís Fabiano das Neves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Torres made a kick off. Pirarema FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Caio Luz in the 54th minute. João Francisco Magalhães struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Evaristo Rocha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pirarema FC. Luís Fabiano das Neves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Albertinho Félix showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Fabiano das Neves in the 65th minute of the match. André Luiz de Almeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albertinho Félix having to interfere. If Luís Fabiano das Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Evaristo Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Torres in the 85th minute of play. A collision led to Clube Atlético Jalesense getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. André Luiz de Almeida hit a great ball.
