After a rather tough play, Zaion F.C.'s Matheus Gaspar got a free kick in the 4th minute. Rafael Souto made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Robinho Batista sent off a good shot on target. Erik Meirelles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eriberto Berger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rafael Souto was out of position in the 14 minute of play, and Vágner Abreu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Vágner Abreu really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Franklin Miranda kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Robinho Batista recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Zaion F.C. booed when São José FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diego Xavier didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vágner Abreu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Robinho Batista who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 43rdth minute tested the skills of Rafael Souto when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Vágner Abreu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Souto having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Matheus Gaspar stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Zaion F.C.'s Matheus Gaspar dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Robinho Batista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Souto having to interfere. Erik Meirelles was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Renato Massa showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 60 minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, São José FC's goalkeeper Erik Meirelles had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eriberto Berger. The crowd rose to their feet as Eriberto Berger kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Erik Meirelles. That made the score 1-3 in the 69 minute of play. After 82 minutes of play, São José FC's Jarbas Carioca made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rafael Souto was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 86th minute of the match Oswaldo Soares sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Erik Meirelles skillfully saved the ball. Eriberto Berger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 92 minutes into the match, São José FC's goal looked a bit too open when Matheus Gaspar came free, but Erik Meirelles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 93rd minute, Dida da Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Zaion F.C. walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
