Arí Abreu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Itaberai FC were awarded a corner in the 11th minute after Zeus Esporte Clube's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Raí Esteves took the corner. After taking down the ball on Itaberai FC's corner Raí Esteves fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Arí Abreu quite easily take care of the ball. If Dadá Vasconcelos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joel Meira kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Zeus Esporte Clube's Mauro Domingues got a free kick in the 25th minute. Dalmo Sousa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chiquinho Travassos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edson Arósio kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Dráusio Ceresso blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arí Abreu having to make a save. Mauro Domingues's late challenge caught a Itaberai FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mauro Domingues helped the player get up and apologised. If Anísio de Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dadá Vasconcelos struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Arí Abreu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itaberai FC. If Anísio de Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Itaberai FC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After some careless play in the Itaberai FC defense, Leonel Teixeira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dalmo Sousa. The Itaberai FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dalmo Sousa should have stopped the shot. Arí Abreu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dadá Vasconcelos in the 59th minute of the match. Dadá Vasconcelos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 65 minutes of play, Itaberai FC's Anísio de Barros made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arí Abreu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Itaberai FC's Anísio de Barros got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Anísio de Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Arí Abreu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Dadá Vasconcelos took a quick shot and it went in 1-5 without a chance for Arí Abreu to make any attempt to save it. If Dadá Vasconcelos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dadá Vasconcelos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arí Abreu having to interfere. After having played for 82 minutes, Chiquinho Travassos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zeus Esporte Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chiquinho Travassos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Dadá Vasconcelos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd match minute, Zeus Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mauro Domingues to maneuver through the defense. Dadá Vasconcelos who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 94thth minute tested the skills of Arí Abreu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Leonel Teixeira took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dalmo Sousa. Dalmo Sousa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-5. Itaberai FC played a much better game than Zeus Esporte Clube and deserved their victory. The Zeus Esporte Clube players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
