With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eliseu Vasconcelos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Deivid Seco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chiquinho Andrade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 47 minutes, Chiquinho Andrade mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Itapiruçu and the Salles AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 47th match minute, Itapiruçu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chiquinho Andrade to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Itapiruçu's Eliseu Vasconcelos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustavo Amorim in the 56th minute of play. After 83 minutes Itapiruçu's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gustavo Amorim who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Salles AD's corner Gustavo Amorim fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Eliseu Vasconcelos quite easily take care of the ball. In the 84th minute, Hugo de Godoi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Salles AD made a substitution. Carlos Augusto Nascimento replaced Carlos Eduardo Dantas. Hermínio Pernambucano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 98th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Salles AD were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
