Eliseu Vasconcelos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Egídio de Souza's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Osvaldo Pereira got free with Eliseu Vasconcelos in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 32nd minute, Teresina FC's Egídio de Souza ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Eliseu Vasconcelos. Eliseu Vasconcelos yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. Itapiruçu's Eliseu Vasconcelos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Itapiruçu from getting a goal against them. Egídio de Souza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eliseu Vasconcelos having to interfere. Teresina FC's Zé Sabóia got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eliseu Vasconcelos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Egídio de Souza's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. Leandro de Amaral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amílton Rocha in the 46th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Egídio de Souza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Amílton Rocha left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Itapiruçu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. 56 minutes into the game, Osvaldo Pereira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Teresina FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itapiruçu the free kick. Osvaldo Pereira hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Eusébio Meira kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Eliseu Vasconcelos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Egídio de Souza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 74th minute, Hugo de Godoi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gláuber Domingues scored 3-2 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Leandro de Amaral, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Egídio de Souza took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eliseu Vasconcelos. Eliseu Vasconcelos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. When Egídio de Souza came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Teresina FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Egídio de Souza couldn't finish the play. Rômulo Furtado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eliseu Vasconcelos having to interfere. Egídio de Souza might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eliseu Vasconcelos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Egídio de Souza ran back to his position shaking his head. Egídio de Souza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. There was no doubt that Teresina FC were the better team. Teresina FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
