Deivid Leão charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Deivid Leão the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 15th match minute, Mount Rushmore FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Deivid Leão to maneuver through the defense. Gláuber Domingues might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eliézer Leão. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gláuber Domingues ran back to his position shaking his head. After some careless play in the Mount Rushmore FC defense, Amílton Rocha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eliézer Leão. The Mount Rushmore FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eliézer Leão should have stopped the shot. 24 minutes into the match, Itapiruçu's goal looked a bit too open when Hélder Montenegro came free, but Eliseu Vasconcelos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amílton Rocha in the 26th minute of play forced Mount Rushmore FC's goalkeeper Eliézer Leão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee gave Itapiruçu a penalty, 33 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ezequiel Garcia, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Mount Rushmore FC's Eliézer Leão. 0-2. Eliseu Vasconcelos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hélder Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. After 41 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Mount Rushmore FC! In the 44th minute there was a penalty for Itapiruçu. Ezequiel Garcia stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Eliézer Leão. 1-3. Hélder Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Itapiruçu were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hélder Montenegro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Ademir Coutinho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mount Rushmore FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ademir Coutinho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eliseu Vasconcelos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Mount Rushmore FC's Eliézer Leão got control of the ball when Amílton Rocha tried to sneak it across the goal line. Amílton Rocha blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eliézer Leão having to make a save. The long shot by Ivo de Sena in the 65th minute really tested Eliézer Leão's skills. In the 83rd match minute, Mount Rushmore FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caetano Pombal to maneuver through the defense. 87 minutes into the game, Mount Rushmore FC's Ademir Coutinho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eliseu Vasconcelos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. Itapiruçu's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
