Alharponi's Tião Leão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anderson Guedes in the 25th minute of play. If Anderson Guedes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anderson Guedes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tião Leão read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. A collision led to Alharponi getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Nico Bittencourt hit a great ball. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Alharponi's goalkeeper Tião Leão, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Alharponi's zone, Anderson Guedes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tião Leão came out of the goal and Anderson Guedes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 41 minutes into the game, Rafinha Neiva was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Toledos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Alharponi the free kick. Rafinha Neiva kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Armandinho Tróia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernesto Brito having to interfere. In the 48th minute the ball was on its way in behind Toledos's goalkeeper Ernesto Brito, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Anderson Guedes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Anderson Guedes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tião Leão was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Toledos's Eliseu de Mendonça got a free kick in the 84th minute.
