The referee ignored Pontale's protests and gave Emílio Chaves a yellow card for diving instead. In the 4th minute, one of Pontale:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Pontale. Pontale:s Rodolfo Medeiros showed great skill when he stopped Genílson Melo:s penalty. Rodolfo Medeiros didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Genílson Melo went, in the 6th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 10th minute, Duarte Vander got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Franklin Travassos struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Tião Leão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pontale. Alharponi's Tião Leão proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Alharponi from getting a goal against them. After 22 played minutes Pontale got a freekick which was hit by Emílio Chaves. If Percy Cerezo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 26th match minute, Alharponi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nico Bittencourt to maneuver through the defense. When Fernando Terra came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Pontale fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernando Terra couldn't finish the play. In the 29th minute Armandinho Tróia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodolfo Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tião Leão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Percy Cerezo in the 33rd minute. 35 minutes into the match, Armandinho Tróia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rodolfo Medeiros. Pontale's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Armandinho Tróia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Tião Leão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Duarte Vander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Percy Cerezo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Tião Leão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Pontale players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Alharponi were winning 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Duarte Vander made a kick off. If Duarte Vander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Percy Cerezo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Alharponi's goalkeeper Tião Leão, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Vinícius Paraense could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Rodolfo Medeiros made a huge save. Tião Leão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Percy Cerezo in the 61st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexsandro Meirelles in the 67th minute of play forced Alharponi's goalkeeper Tião Leão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Armandinho Tróia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 75 minutes, Oscar Seco took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Rodolfo Medeiros to make any attempt to save it. When the final whistle went the supporters of Alharponi were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Pontale side.
