Carlos Alberto Neves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabinho Velasco, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. In the 21st minute, Fabinho Velasco left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cabore EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After some careless play in the Montana EC defense, Fabinho Velasco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carlos Alberto Neves. The Montana EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carlos Alberto Neves should have stopped the shot. Carlos Alberto Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabinho Velasco in the 29th minute of play. Montana EC's Carlos Alberto Neves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabinho Velasco in the 32nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Fabinho Velasco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carlos Alberto Neves was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. If Amílton Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Enrique Hermes made in the 39th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Cabore EC's Tião Vander. Carlos Alberto Neves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabinho Velasco in the 42nd minute of the match. Zézinho Pernambucano took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 44th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Carlos Alberto Neves. Montana EC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Fabinho Velasco took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Carlos Alberto Neves. Carlos Alberto Neves dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Carlos Alberto Neves came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by Cabore EC's Fabinho Velasco. But to his dismay, Fabinho Velasco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. In the 62nd match minute, Montana EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Humberto Nóbrega to maneuver through the defense. 0-6 became the score in the 65th minute when Fabinho Velasco elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Amílton Castro charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Amílton Castro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 69 played minutes Cabore EC got a freekick which was hit by Amílton Castro. Cabore EC made a substitution. Pedro Carneiro replaced Tião Vander. Amílton Castro kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. 70 minutes into the match, Joélson Nunes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rafinha Baptista. Cabore EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joélson Nunes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-6. Cabore EC's Anselmo Valladares was substituted for Zézinho Pernambucano. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fabinho Velasco got free with Carlos Alberto Neves in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Patrick Rezende fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Alberto Neves having to interfere.
