Sílvio Brodel charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sílvio Brodel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Arsenal FC getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Sílvio Brodel hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Chernobyll's César Guedes got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 27th minute of the match Arsenal FC got a corner. Chernobyll's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Fabiano Tróia ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Arsenal FC's Arlindo Mattos to fire away a dangerous shot which Alex Catarinense despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. If Alberto Prado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alberto Prado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alex Catarinense having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Adilson Coelho to strike the kick off in the second half. If Arlindo Mattos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chernobyll's Júnior Queiroz got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 76 minutes into the game, Adilson Coelho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Fernandinho Bueno was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Adilson Coelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sílvio Brodel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alex Catarinense read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. A collision led to Arsenal FC getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Raí Maia hit a great ball. Chernobyll's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
