But to his dismay, Gilson Schmidt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Gilson Schmidt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Mathias Sarmento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Deivid Favoretto fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cuiabá FC's protests and gave Deivid Favoretto a yellow card for diving instead. In the 34th minute, Deivid Favoretto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 34th minute of the match Germano Tasso sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mathias Sarmento skillfully saved the ball. Nelsinho Guimarães's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 63rdth minute, Mathias Sarmento skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Gilson Schmidt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gilson Schmidt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Nelsinho Guimarães blasted a shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mathias Sarmento having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilson Schmidt in the 80th minute of play forced Cuiabá FC's goalkeeper Mathias Sarmento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mathias Sarmento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilson Schmidt, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Mathias Sarmento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tião Braga in the 84th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Róbson Campidelis during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the final whistle sounded Covil FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Cuiabá FC.
