Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Raúl Ceresso started the match with the kick off. When AFC Volares's Raúl Ceresso in the 3rd minute got a chance for a shot 3rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Covil FC's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 4 minutes, Falcão Tavares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AFC Volares's supporters crossed their fingers, but Falcão Tavares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nelsinho Guimarães could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Sérgio Moraes made a huge save. Raúl Ceresso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Marcinho Severo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Falcão Tavares managed to get in a good position for a shot. AFC Volares's supporters rose to their feet, but Falcão Tavares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcinho Severo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marquinhos Trigo charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marquinhos Trigo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 14 played minutes Covil FC got a freekick which was hit by Marquinhos Trigo. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Raúl Ceresso in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcinho Severo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 20 minutes into the match, AFC Volares's goal looked a bit too open when Gilson Schmidt came free, but Sérgio Moraes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sérgio Moraes came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Covil FC's Nelsinho Guimarães. But to his dismay, Nelsinho Guimarães quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Covil FC's goalkeeper Marcinho Severo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 40 minutes into the match, AFC Volares's goalkeeper Sérgio Moraes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nelsinho Guimarães. With a little luck, AFC Volares's Sérgio Moraes got control of the ball when Nelsinho Guimarães tried to sneak it across the goal line. Raúl Ceresso struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Marcinho Severo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AFC Volares. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gilson Schmidt to strike the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Covil FC got a freekick which was hit by Gilson Meireles. Falcão Tavares hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. In the 54th minute Nelsinho Guimarães shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sérgio Moraes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 56thth minute of the game Raúl Ceresso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Covil FC's Marcinho Severo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 56 minutes into the game, Tião Braga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Covil FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AFC Volares the free kick. In the 56th match minute, Covil FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tião Braga to maneuver through the defense. Raúl Ceressos short, quick shot in the 58thth minute got Marcinho Severo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Sérgio Moraes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilson Schmidt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 61st minute Nelsinho Guimarães shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sérgio Moraes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 67th minute Tião Braga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sérgio Moraes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nelsinho Guimarães scored 3-0 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sérgio Moraes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Sérgio Moraes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilson Schmidt, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Sérgio Moraes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilson Schmidt in the 76th minute of play. 78 minutes into the match, Raúl Ceresso dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Marcinho Severo, 3-1. Covil FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of AFC Volares for a fine match.
