Ismael de Queirós took the ball and in the 5 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wesley Vander. Wesley Vander dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After having played for 10 minutes, Flavinho Carneiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Uberaba FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Flavinho Carneiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ismael de Queirós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Wesley Vander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 16 minutes into the game, one of Onca EC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Wesley Vander came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Uberaba FC's Gil Cordeiro. But to his dismay, Gil Cordeiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Uberaba FC's Flavinho Carneiro got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wesley Vander showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flavinho Carneiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gil Cordeiro in the 25th minute of play forced Onca EC's goalkeeper Wesley Vander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Ismael de Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Gil Cordeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luiz Fábio Donato lost his temper 34 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 33 minutes into the game, one of Uberaba FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Onca EC's goalkeeper Wesley Vander, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 43 minutes into the match, Uberaba FC's Gil Cordeiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wesley Vander narrowly saved just below the crossbar.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cacá Maranhense to make the kick off. Uberaba FC's Ismael de Queirós got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Onca EC booed when Uberaba FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Carlos de Sousa didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wilson Freitas in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dário Linhares saved Uberaba FC from getting behind. 73 minutes into the game, Gil Cordeiro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-4. Wesley Vander was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gil Cordeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Wesley Vander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wesley Vander came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Uberaba FC's Ismael de Queirós. But to his dismay, Ismael de Queirós quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-5. A collision led to Uberaba FC getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Nico Martins hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cacá Maranhense in the 85th minute of play forced Uberaba FC's goalkeeper Dário Linhares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 86th match minute, Uberaba FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nico Martins to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Onca EC's Wesley Vander got control of the ball when Lauro Guimarães tried to sneak it across the goal line. 93 minutes into the match, Uberaba FC's Ismael de Queirós sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wesley Vander narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Uberaba FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
