If Gilson Schmidt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gilson Schmidt in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paulinho Freitas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Tornado FC's Kléber de Godoi got a free kick in the 5th minute. Paulinho Freitas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilson Schmidt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paulinho Freitas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gilson Schmidt went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Paulinho Freitas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valério Pitta's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. Nelsinho Guimarães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Paulinho Freitas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 21st minute by Ulysses Esteves got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When Tião Braga fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Covil FC's protests and gave Tião Braga a yellow card for diving instead. After 22 played minutes Covil FC got a freekick which was hit by Tião Braga. If Nelsinho Guimarães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Tornado FC defense, Gilson Schmidt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paulinho Freitas. The Tornado FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paulinho Freitas should have stopped the shot. Tião Braga kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Ulysses Esteves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tornado FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ulysses Esteves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcinho Severo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Gilson Schmidt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gilson Schmidt stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tornado FC's Paulinho Freitas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Tornado FC from getting a goal against them. In the 55th minute, Kléber de Godoi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nelsinho Guimarães struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Paulinho Freitas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Covil FC. Tornado FC's Paulinho Freitas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Tornado FC from getting a goal against them. Tornado FC's Paulinho Freitas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilson Schmidt in the 66th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Tornado FC's Bruninho Vinhas got a free kick in the 70th minute. In the 71st minute, Germano Tasso sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Tornado FC's Paulinho Freitas didn't even have to move. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulysses Esteves in the 76th minute of play forced Covil FC's goalkeeper Marcinho Severo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77th minute, Nelsinho Guimarães left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Covil FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. Gilson Schmidt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 85thth minute of the game Gilson Schmidt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tornado FC's Paulinho Freitas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 87 played minutes Gilson Schmidt rounded Tornado FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-5. Nelsinho Guimarães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Paulinho Freitas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Covil FC played a much better game than Tornado FC and deserved their victory. The Tornado FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
