Spectators: 7218 (Terracing: 5415, Seating: 1660, VIP seats: 143) After 3 minutes of play, Cuiabá FC's Humberto Salles made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Roberto de Lima was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Víktor Proença had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dedé Rosado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 20 minutes, Erik Alvarenga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Glacial F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Erik Alvarenga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mathias Sarmento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dedé Rosado in the 22nd minute of the match. In the 27th minute, Erik Alvarenga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 36th minute Zé Roberto Rezende shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mathias Sarmento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Erik Alvarenga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Mathias Sarmento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mathias Sarmento didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dedé Rosado went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Víktor Proença was the one to do the kick off. Zé Roberto Rezende's late challenge caught a Cuiabá FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zé Roberto Rezende helped the player get up and apologised. Roberto de Lima made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Víktor Proença in the 61st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Glacial F.C.'s zone, Humberto Salles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roberto de Lima came out of the goal and Humberto Salles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Glacial F.C.'s Erik Alvarenga got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 68 minutes into the match, Cuiabá FC's Víktor Proença sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Roberto de Lima narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Júnior Amaral hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. If Erik Alvarenga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpected shot in the 78th minute by Dedé Rosado got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Víktor Proença sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 88th minute, Víktor Proença got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Roberto de Lima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Humberto Salles, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. When Dedé Rosado came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Glacial F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dedé Rosado couldn't finish the play. In the 97th minute Humberto Salles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roberto de Lima saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Cuiabá FC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
