Tiaguinho da Mata helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of VIEZZER F. C. booed when São Paulo Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiaguinho da Mata didn't get a good kick on the ball. São Paulo Futebol Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Manuel Linhares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Décio Quadros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Scot McCloud fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Décio Quadros having to interfere. São Paulo Futebol Clube's Elano Jacinto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save São Paulo Futebol Clube from getting a goal against them.
