Olívio Dias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Márcio Cardozo in the 3rd minute of play. 5 minutes into the match, Ativa Sport Club's goal looked a bit too open when Márcio Cardozo came free, but Olívio Dias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With his leg Maicon Ferreira managed to avoid a goal in the 10thth minute, when Ativa Sport Club's José Prata fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 10 minutes into the game, Faustão Mello was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Camisa 33's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ativa Sport Club the free kick. Faustão Mello hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. José Prata blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Maicon Ferreira having to make a save. Olívio Dias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Noel Leão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match clock showed 26 minutes, the score became 1-0 when José Prata sped through Camisa 33's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Maicon Ferreira. When Ativa Sport Club's José Prata in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When Juan Costa came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Ativa Sport Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juan Costa couldn't finish the play. After having played for 43 minutes, José Prata managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ativa Sport Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Prata was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Maicon Ferreira made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when José Prata sent off a good shot on target. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When Ativa Sport Club's José Prata in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After having played for 73 minutes, José Prata managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ativa Sport Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Prata was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Juan Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Benedito Matos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ativa Sport Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Benedito Matos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maicon Ferreira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. José Prata recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sidnei Vianna in the 85th minute of play forced Camisa 33's goalkeeper Maicon Ferreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Ativa Sport Club booed when Camisa 33 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cesinha Correia didn't get a good kick on the ball. 94 minutes into the match, Christiano Custódio dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Olívio Dias, 3-1. Márcio Cardozo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 99thth minute tested the skills of Olívio Dias when he managed to save the team from getting behind.
