Romao SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Osmar Teixeira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The supporters of Romao SC booed when Bonsucesso FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fred Mello didn't get a good kick on the ball. 10 minutes into the game, Gilberto Vieira recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of José Pedro da Silveira. Gilberto Vieira showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabinho França in the 18th minute of play forced Romao SC's goalkeeper Kléberson Neto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cido Valle kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. If Osmar Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kléberson Neto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Osmar Teixeira, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. After 29 played minutes, Bonsucesso FC's Filipe Varela shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Kléberson Neto came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Bonsucesso FC reached it. Rafael Pinho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but José Pedro da Silveira made a huge save. In the 32nd minute Fabinho França shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kléberson Neto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Rafael Pinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rafael Pinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Rafael Pinho came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Romao SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rafael Pinho couldn't finish the play. In the 48th minute Fabinho França shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kléberson Neto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Romao SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bonsucesso FC the free kick. In the 64th minute of the match Fred Mello sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kléberson Neto skillfully saved the ball. Kléberson Neto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabinho França in the 68th minute of the match. Osmar Teixeira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gilberto Vieira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. José Pedro da Silveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kléberson Neto made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Osmar Teixeira sent off a good shot on target. In the 84th minute, Osmar Teixeira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kléberson Neto was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. If Fabinho França had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Romao SC's Kléberson Neto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabinho França in the 95th minute of play. Rafael Pinho struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. José Pedro da Silveira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Romao SC. The Bonsucesso FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
