Gilberto Vieira started the match with the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Romao SC's zone, Raí Lopez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kléberson Neto came out of the goal and Raí Lopez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Charles Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kléberson Neto having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Igor Lago during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 8th minute, one of Romao SC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Romao SC. In the 10th minute there was a penalty for MMS Futebol Clube. Luís Eduardo Félix stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Kléberson Neto. 0-1. 14 minutes into the game, Cido Valle was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Romao SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MMS Futebol Clube the free kick. After 14 played minutes Romao SC got a freekick which was hit by Cido Valle. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Raí Lopez managed to get in a good position for a shot. MMS Futebol Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Raí Lopez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kléberson Neto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 20th match minute, MMS Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Charles Ribeiro to maneuver through the defense. In the 27th minute Raí Lopez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kléberson Neto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kléberson Neto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Júnior Velloso in the 28th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Gilberto Vieira fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Chiquinho Veiga, passed just outside the right post. Gilberto Vieira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Chiquinho Veiga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kléberson Neto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raí Lopez in the 39th minute of the match. In the 40th minute, one of Romao SC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Romao SC. In the 42nd minute there was a penalty for MMS Futebol Clube. Luís Eduardo Félix stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Kléberson Neto. 0-2. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Hamílton Mendonça kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Chiquinho Veiga came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Romao SC's Rafael Pinho. But to his dismay, Rafael Pinho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. The supporters of Romao SC booed when MMS Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edson Cearense didn't get a good kick on the ball. Júnior Velloso in the 75thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Kléberson Neto, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Júnior Velloso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Kléberson Neto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 80th of the match, Raí Lopez tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Kléberson Neto got in the way and made a wonderful save. If Rafael Pinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 84 minutes into the match, MMS Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Gilberto Vieira came free, but Chiquinho Veiga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Romao SC were awarded a corner in the 89th minute after MMS Futebol Clube's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Nilton Mattos took the corner. The corner led Romao SC's Nilton Mattos to fire away a dangerous shot which Chiquinho Veiga despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 94th minute Rafael Pinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chiquinho Veiga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 95th minute, Rafael Pinho made a precise shot to the right of Chiquinho Veiga. MMS Futebol Clube's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
