When Fiori Vander fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored LuDrum's protests and gave Fiori Vander a yellow card for diving instead. Olívio Vianna had in the 22ndth minute some difficulties stopping Douglas Viana's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The supporters of Uacurizal EC booed when LuDrum was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdemar da Rocha didn't get a good kick on the ball. 25 minutes into the game, Patrick Barreto recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Olívio Vianna. Uacurizal EC's Patrick Barreto got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Tiaguinho Recife managed to get in a good position for a shot. LuDrum's supporters rose to their feet, but Tiaguinho Recife was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Manuel Paranaense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 40 minutes, Sidney Vaz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Uacurizal EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sidney Vaz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sidney Vaz was the one to do the kick off. Patrick Barreto might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Olívio Vianna. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Uacurizal EC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 55th minute, when Antônio Siqueira scored to the left of an out of position Manuel Paranaense, making the score, 1-1. Olívio Vianna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrick Barreto in the 59th minute of play.
