Telmo Sanches's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Raúl Monteiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Itapiru's goalkeeper Emanuel Coutinho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Telmo Sanches to strike the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Telmo Sanches kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Raúl Monteiro. That made the score 0-2 in the 56 minute of play. Emanuel Coutinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raphael de Queiroz, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Itapiru had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
