Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Telmo Sanches started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. A collision led to Itapiru getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Aloísio Nunes hit a great ball. 11 minutes into the match, Galo Azul's goalkeeper Duarte Lucas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vitório Ceresso. Aílton Simão's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Emanuel Coutinho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. After 20 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Itapiru! Nelsinho Silveira shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Duarte Lucas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Telmo Sanches in the 25th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aílton Simão in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emanuel Coutinho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Emanuel Coutinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aílton Simão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Galo Azul's Duarte Lucas got control of the ball when Vitório Ceresso tried to sneak it across the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fernandão Loyola to strike the kick off in the second half. When Dida Vander fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Itapiru's protests and gave Dida Vander a yellow card for diving instead. After 55 minutes, Mateus Fantini made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Itapiru's Emanuel Coutinho tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Itapiru's Emanuel Coutinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernandão Loyola in the 69th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ciro Mota during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 73 minutes into the game, one of Galo Azul:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 75th minute there was a penalty for Itapiru. Waldemar Furtado stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Duarte Lucas. 1-1. Aílton Simão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernandão Loyola in the 84th minute of play forced Itapiru's goalkeeper Emanuel Coutinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Galo Azul's Fernandão Loyola got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Váldson Diniz kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. In the 89th minute of the match Dida Vander sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Duarte Lucas skillfully saved the ball. After 89 played minutes Galo Azul got a freekick which was hit by Mateus Fantini. The Itapiru fans' excitement grew in the 94th match minute when Itapiru's Vitório Ceresso looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 98 minutes into the game, Fernandão Loyola recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Emanuel Coutinho. Fernandão Loyola showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
