Minas Gerais's goalkeeper Válbson Velloso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 7 minutes into the match, C.F. Minas Gerais's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Gustavo Paulista came free, but Válbson Velloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 12 minutes, Hermínio da Silveira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.F. Minas Gerais's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hermínio da Silveira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 14 played minutes Patolas FC got a freekick which was hit by Tony Cavalcante. Caetano do Vale received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Válbson Velloso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 21 minutes, Cacá Queirós mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Patolas FC and the C.F. Minas Gerais players grew even worse after the yellow card. Cacá Queirós kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in C.F. Minas Gerais's zone, Cacá Queirós stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Válbson Velloso came out of the goal and Cacá Queirós tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, C.F. Minas Gerais's Osvaldinho Machado got a free kick in the 27th minute. Válbson Velloso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raphael de Queiroz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Caetano do Vale in the 34th minute of play forced C.F. Minas Gerais's goalkeeper Válbson Velloso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 36 minutes, Raphael de Queiroz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Patolas FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raphael de Queiroz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Válbson Velloso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Raphael de Queiroz's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Caetano do Vale during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Minas Gerais's goalkeeper Válbson Velloso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Raphael de Queiroz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Raúl Monteiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hermínio da Silveira in the 66th minute of play. C.F. Minas Gerais's Hermínio da Silveira got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tony Cavalcante got his second yellow card in the match during the 69th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Patolas FC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Tony Cavalcante hit a great ball. After 73 minutes, Luizinho Castro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Patolas FC and the C.F. Minas Gerais players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of C.F. Minas Gerais booed when Patolas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luizinho Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hermínio da Silveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Raúl Monteiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Raphael de Queiroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Válbson Velloso having to interfere. Caetano do Vale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 86 minutes into the match, C.F. Minas Gerais's goalkeeper Válbson Velloso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Caetano do Vale. When Caetano do Vale came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Patolas FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Caetano do Vale couldn't finish the play. After having played for 90 minutes, Caetano do Vale managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Patolas FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Caetano do Vale was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind C.F. Minas Gerais's goalkeeper Válbson Velloso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Patolas FC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented C.F. Minas Gerais from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
