Afonsinho Toledo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernandão Loyola, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Aílton Simão could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Afonsinho Toledo made a huge save. After having played for 20 minutes, Aílton Simão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Galo Azul's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aílton Simão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fernandão Loyola recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 44 minutes into the match, Deportivo Garra F. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Fernandão Loyola came free, but Afonsinho Toledo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fernandão Loyola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fernandão Loyola made a kick off. If Aílton Simão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. Duarte Lucas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tony Pinheiro in the 90th minute of the match. Deportivo Garra F. C.'s Tony Pinheiro got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fernandão Loyola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonsinho Toledo having to interfere. Afonsinho Toledo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aílton Simão, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Deportivo Garra F. C.'s players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
