Spectators: 7170 (Terracing: 5379, Seating: 1649, VIP seats: 142) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Hermínio da Silveira kicked off to start the match. Hermínio da Silveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rodrigo Lago in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Válbson Velloso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Válbson Velloso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicolas Valladares in the 8th minute of play. 9 minutes into the match, C.F. Minas Gerais's goal looked a bit too open when Eriberto Quirino came free, but Válbson Velloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 10th minute Rodrigo Lago shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Válbson Velloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hermínio da Silveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kaká Furlan having to interfere. Desportivo's Kaká Furlan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Desportivo from getting a goal against them. Nicolas Valladares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Válbson Velloso having to interfere. Hermínio da Silveira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Válbson Velloso came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Desportivo's Rodrigo Lago. But to his dismay, Rodrigo Lago quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 28th minute, Kauan Dracena made a precise shot to the right of Válbson Velloso. C.F. Minas Gerais's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Válbson Velloso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicolas Valladares in the 34th minute of the match. Kauan Dracena hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. If Osvaldinho Machado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 40 played minutes C.F. Minas Gerais got a freekick which was hit by Hermínio da Silveira. Válbson Velloso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodrigo Lago, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Desportivo were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After having played for 52 minutes, Kauan Dracena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Desportivo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kauan Dracena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Hermínio da Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rodrigo Lago recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. C.F. Minas Gerais's Hermínio da Silveira got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Válbson Velloso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicolas Valladares in the 62nd minute of play. After having played for 67 minutes, Rodrigo Lago managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Desportivo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rodrigo Lago was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Válbson Velloso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kauan Dracena in the 72nd minute of play. In the 75th minute, Kauan Dracena fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Hermínio da Silveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kaká Furlan having to interfere. Hermínio da Silveira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Válbson Velloso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rodrigo Lago in the 92nd minute. Osvaldinho Machado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Kaká Furlan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Desportivo's goalkeeper Kaká Furlan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The C.F. Minas Gerais supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Desportivo's performance. The match ended with a win for Desportivo.
