After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Válbson Moura managed to get in a good position for a shot. Soviético FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Válbson Moura was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cléber Schmidt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cléber Schmidt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Válbson Moura's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. If Válbson Moura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cléberson Meirelles kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Válbson Moura's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 17thth minute, Cléber Schmidt skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Viannopolis FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Nuno Gerber in the 20th minute. After taking down the ball on Viannopolis FC's corner Nuno Gerber fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ronaldinho Guedes quite easily take care of the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Soviético FC's goal looked a bit too open when Geovanni Gaúcho came free, but Ronaldinho Guedes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ronaldinho Guedes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geovanni Gaúcho in the 33rd minute of the match. Válbson Moura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cléber Schmidt having to interfere.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Válbson Moura made a kick off. In the 54th minute Válbson Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cléber Schmidt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Amadeu Koehler hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Válbson Moura took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cléber Schmidt. Cléber Schmidt dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Soviético FC's Ronaldinho Guedes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Soviético FC from getting a goal against them. After 71 played minutes, Soviético FC's Virgílio Linares shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cléber Schmidt came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Soviético FC reached it. After 76 minutes, Cléberson Meirelles mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Viannopolis FC and the Soviético FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Soviético FC booed when Viannopolis FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cléberson Meirelles didn't get a good kick on the ball. Válbson Moura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Cléber Schmidt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Válbson Moura in the 86th minute of play forced Viannopolis FC's goalkeeper Cléber Schmidt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Viannopolis FC's zone, Válbson Moura stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cléber Schmidt came out of the goal and Válbson Moura tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cláudio Tasso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Ronaldinho Guedes made a huge save. With a little luck, Soviético FC's Ronaldinho Guedes got control of the ball when Cláudio Tasso tried to sneak it across the goal line. Viannopolis FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
