EC Cubatão's goalie Nestor Ribeiro was quick on his feet when Francisco Mineiro aimed and made a shot towards the top left corner. The goalie picked down the ball without great difficulties. After a defensive mix-up in EC Cubatão's zone, Cipriano Motta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nestor Ribeiro came out of the goal and Cipriano Motta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Francisco Mineiros short, quick shot in the 29thth minute got Nestor Ribeiro to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. A collision led to EC Cubatão getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Duda Macedo hit a great ball. When Francisco Mineiro came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Itaoca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francisco Mineiro couldn't finish the play. When %teams%'s Francisco Mineiro was free in front of goal, he didn't hesitate to shoot 2-0 just inside the left pole, 38 minutes into the game. Nestor Ribeiro was annoyed at himself for letting in the shot. With his leg Nestor Ribeiro managed to avoid a goal in the 44thth minute, when Itaoca's Francisco Mineiro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Virgílio Couto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Francisco Mineiro to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Sebastião Fonseca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 53rd minute of the match Manuel da Rocha sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tarcisio Toscano skillfully saved the ball. Virgílio Couto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Nestor Ribeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 57 played minutes Itaoca got a freekick which was hit by Virgílio Couto. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anísio Lucas in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tarcisio Toscano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Virgílio Couto during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Itaoca's Virgílio Couto got a free kick in the 59th minute. 60 minutes into the match, Itaoca's goal looked a bit too open when Anísio Lucas came free, but Tarcisio Toscano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tarcisio Toscano was a little too slow when Fausto Guerra got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 61st minute. The score was now 2-1. Nestor Ribeiro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Francisco Mineiro's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. After 69 played minutes EC Cubatão got a freekick which was hit by Fausto Guerra. Francisco Mineiro struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Nestor Ribeiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itaoca. Nestor Ribeiro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Francisco Mineiro went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Francisco Mineiro in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nestor Ribeiro saved EC Cubatão from getting behind. 89 minutes into the match, Francisco Mineiro notched a goal, 5-1, to the right of EC Cubatão's Nestor Ribeiro. Nestor Ribeiro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Itaoca had played much better football throughout.
