Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zézinho Cardoso in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Silas Gomes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dedé dos Santos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ricardinho Neto in the 14th minute. ARSENAL FC's Silas Gomes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sidney Mazza in the 15th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, ARSENAL FC's goal looked a bit too open when Zézinho Cardoso came free, but Silas Gomes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to ARSENAL FC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Murillo Maranhense hit a great ball. Ricardinho Neto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dedé dos Santos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. If Sidney Mazza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Silas Gomes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zézinho Cardoso went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ian Sergipano made a kick off. The referee showed Tião Camargo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Tião Camargo kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Pangare's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
