Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Ian Sergipano kicked off to start the match. Pangare's supporters rose to their feet, but Henrique Castro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Silas Gomes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pangare's Sidney Mazza got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Silas Gomes didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 15th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind ARSENAL FC's goalkeeper Silas Gomes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Gilson Freitas fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ARSENAL FC's protests and gave Gilson Freitas a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Pangare booed when ARSENAL FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilson Freitas didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Sidney Mazza came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Pangare fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sidney Mazza couldn't finish the play. If Ricardinho Neto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 36 played minutes Pangare got a freekick which was hit by Valdir Quaresma. 40 minutes into the match, Pangare's Zézinho Cardoso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Silas Gomes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. ARSENAL FC's Silas Gomes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save ARSENAL FC from getting a goal against them. The referee felt a red card was in order, 56 minutes into the game, when Valdir Quaresma put in a rough tackle. Silas Gomes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sidney Mazza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dedé dos Santos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ian Sergipano's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Sidney Mazza might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Silas Gomes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sidney Mazza ran back to his position shaking his head. Ian Sergipano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 78 played minutes ARSENAL FC got a freekick which was hit by Murillo Maranhense. Dedé dos Santos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ricardinho Neto in the 81st minute. Sidney Mazza struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Silas Gomes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pangare. 85 minutes into the match, Cássio Chaves notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of ARSENAL FC's Silas Gomes. Silas Gomes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Sidney Mazza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in ARSENAL FC's zone, Henrique Castro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Silas Gomes came out of the goal and Henrique Castro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Silas Gomes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sidney Mazza in the 94th minute of the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Pangare fully deserved thier win.
