Doni Prata's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Henrique Furtado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sydney Cunha in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Francisco Lopes saved Arto do Pasto from getting behind. Francisco Lopes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sydney Cunha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Foz do Iguaçu FC booed when Arto do Pasto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Walmyr de Andrade didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fernando Quadros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Fernando Quadros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Foz do Iguaçu FC's Henrique Furtado got control of the ball when Doni Prata tried to sneak it across the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sydney Cunha to strike the kick off in the second half. When Pedrão Varela came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Arto do Pasto fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedrão Varela couldn't finish the play. 62 minutes into the match, Doni Prata had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Henrique Furtado. Foz do Iguaçu FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Doni Prata was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. After 70 played minutes Foz do Iguaçu FC got a freekick which was hit by Davi Albuquerque. When the match had been going on for 81 minutes, Foz do Iguaçu FC's Oscar Rosa got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Francisco Lopes. Pedrão Varela fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henrique Furtado having to interfere. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Foz do Iguaçu FC's goalkeeper Henrique Furtado, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Doni Prata received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Henrique Furtado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Henrique Furtado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedrão Varela, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. Arto do Pasto were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Foz do Iguaçu FC for a fine match.
