When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Luiz Fernando Munhoz put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Henrique Furtado. Hernani Souza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 25 played minutes Cambitos de Serrozeta got a freekick which was hit by Allan Linhares. Hernani Souza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sydney Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Foz do Iguaçu FC's Sydney Cunha got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Sydney Cunha made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Sydney Cunha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastião Siqueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nico Gomes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sebastião Siqueira came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by Foz do Iguaçu FC's Fernando Quadros. But to his dismay, Fernando Quadros quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. 62 minutes into the match, Cambitos de Serrozeta's Hernani Souza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Henrique Furtado narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 64 played minutes, Cambitos de Serrozeta's Fabinho de Almeida shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Henrique Furtado came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cambitos de Serrozeta reached it. Fernando Quadros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Sebastião Siqueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sebastião Siqueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sydney Cunha in the 70th minute of play. If Fernando Quadros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Sydney Cunha came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Foz do Iguaçu FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sydney Cunha couldn't finish the play. Nico Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henrique Furtado having to interfere.
