Dorian Azevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Pedro Miranda in the 21st minute of the match. Akotipa's Christiano Arósio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Alberto Mazza in the 27th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Augusto Coelho got free with Christiano Arósio in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dorian Azevedo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from José Pedro Miranda went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. When Akotipa's José Pedro Miranda in the 44th minute got a chance for a shot 44th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Moderna FC's goalie prevented a goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The tension between the Akotipa and the Moderna FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 64th match minute, Akotipa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Roberto Goiano to maneuver through the defense. José Pedro Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. The Akotipa supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Akotipa would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
