The referee ignored Guarulight F.C's protests and gave William Donato a yellow card for diving instead. In the 15th minute, William Donato hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, William Donato put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Raí de Lara. Sidney Machado took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 29th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Vitinho Paes. Guarulight F.C's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, Guarulight F.C's Giuseppe Brasil got a free kick in the 30th minute. Zé Augusto da Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raí de Lara having to interfere. Quixoa AD's Raí de Lara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matías Nascimento in the 41st minute of play. The Quixoa AD players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Guarulight F.C were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Reynaldo Passos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes Guarulight F.C got a freekick which was hit by Giuseppe Brasil. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling William Donato in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Raí de Lara prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 59 played minutes Quixoa AD got a freekick which was hit by Rubinho do Vale. In the 60th match minute, Guarulight F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giuseppe Brasil to maneuver through the defense. Reynaldo Passos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Vitinho Paes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giuseppe Brasil in the 71st minute of play forced Quixoa AD's goalkeeper Raí de Lara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rubinho do Vale hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Quixoa AD's Reynaldo Passos suffered a concussion in the 77th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. When Tales Abreu fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Guarulight F.C's protests and gave Tales Abreu a yellow card for diving instead. In the 78th match minute, Guarulight F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tales Abreu to maneuver through the defense. When William Donato came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Guarulight F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that William Donato couldn't finish the play. Quixoa AD's defense didn't have a chance, in the 84th minute, when Zé Augusto da Costa scored to the left of an out of position Raí de Lara, making the score, 0-3. In the 87th minute Matías Nascimento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raí de Lara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match was over Guarulight F.C could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Quixoa AD throughout the match.
