Romário Koehler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iuri das Neves, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. 8 minutes into the match, S. E. Portovelhense's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Augusto Lago came free, but Romário Koehler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 14th minute, Odaze's Zeca Alcântara ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Romário Koehler. Romário Koehler yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. If Dudu Tinoco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 20 minutes into the game, Iuri das Neves recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Romário Koehler. Iuri das Neves showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. Romário Koehler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zeca Alcântara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28th minute Zeca Alcântara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romário Koehler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlos Augusto Lago's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Romário Koehler read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. 3-1 became the score in the 30th minute when Nilson Cabral elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After 33 played minutes Odaze got a freekick which was hit by João Pedro Diniz. Duarte Cardoso kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Carlos Augusto Lago's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Romário Koehler was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. João Salgado hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nilson Cabral made a kick off. After a rather tough play, S. E. Portovelhense's Mané Reis got a free kick in the 57th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carlos Augusto Lago in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Romário Koehler prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 63 played minutes S. E. Portovelhense got a freekick which was hit by Duarte Cardoso. Romário Koehler came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Odaze's Carlos Augusto Lago. But to his dismay, Carlos Augusto Lago quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. In the 75th minute, Vladimir Brodel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 78th minute Marco Alves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romário Koehler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 80th match minute, S. E. Portovelhense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Duarte Cardoso to maneuver through the defense. When the referee ended the match the Odaze players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
