He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in S. E. Portovelhense reached it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dudu Tinoco in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Claudinei Montenegro saved Saracura TS from getting behind. Duarte Cardoso's late challenge caught a Saracura TS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Duarte Cardoso helped the player get up and apologised. Duarte Cardoso hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. The long shot by Carlinhos Queirós in the 15th minute really tested Romário Koehler's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Saracura TS's Claudinei Montenegro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dudu Tinoco in the 17th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nilson Cabral in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Claudinei Montenegro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 22 minutes into the game, Nilson Cabral cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Claudinei Montenegro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Claudinei Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nilson Cabral in the 25th minute of play. Romário Koehler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Júlio Meireles, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. A collision led to S. E. Portovelhense getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Mané Reis hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Júlio Meireles's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Romário Koehler was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind S. E. Portovelhense's goalkeeper Romário Koehler, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nilson Cabral stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Olavo Passos charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Olavo Passos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Saracura TS booed when S. E. Portovelhense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olavo Passos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rubinho de Salles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romário Koehler having to interfere. Duarte Cardoso was shown his second yellow card after 61 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. 66 minutes into the game, Rubinho de Salles cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Romário Koehler was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 70th minute, Virgílio Paulista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rubinho de Salles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Rubinho de Salles's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Romário Koehler was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. Nilson Cabral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Claudinei Montenegro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
