In the 6th minute of the match, Sandrinho Barbosa got a very nice opportunity to score, but Juarês Falcão was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Renan Magalhães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leopoldo de Senna in the 7th minute of the match. Sandrinho Barbosa came free with the goalkeeper in the 8th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Juarês Falcão could save by the left post. Juarês Falcão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sandrinho Barbosa in the 12th minute. Cafu Bittencourt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Juarês Falcão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Gustavo Medeiros fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pocoes's protests and gave Gustavo Medeiros a yellow card for diving instead. After 14 played minutes Pocoes got a freekick which was hit by Gustavo Medeiros. Through an outstanding action, after 17 minutes, Juarês Falcão successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Juarês Falcão didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sandrinho Barbosa went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Pedro Luís Cearense hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Renan Magalhães showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cafu da Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. In the 31st minute Cafu Bittencourt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juarês Falcão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pocoes's Juarês Falcão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cafu Bittencourt in the 32nd minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, Pocoes's goalkeeper Juarês Falcão had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sandrinho Barbosa. Renan Magalhães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leopoldo de Senna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Cafu Bittencourt made the kick off in the second half. 2-0 became the score in the 51st minute when Cafu Bittencourt elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Pocoes's Kléber de Senna shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 55th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Renan Magalhães but with some difficulty. In the 59th minute, Cafu Bittencourt made a precise shot to the right of Juarês Falcão. Pocoes's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leopoldo de Senna in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Renan Magalhães saved Genipapo SC from getting behind. Leopoldo de Senna recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Genipapo SC's Renan Magalhães proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Genipapo SC from getting a goal against them. 73 minutes into the match, Leopoldo de Senna dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Renan Magalhães, 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cafu Bittencourt in the 76th minute of play forced Pocoes's goalkeeper Juarês Falcão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Pocoes booed when Genipapo SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eriberto Dionísio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Renan Magalhães showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leopoldo de Senna, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Renan Magalhães made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leopoldo de Senna in the 86th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Cafu da Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pocoes's supporters rose to their feet, but Cafu da Costa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Renan Magalhães breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 90th minute, Sandrinho Barbosa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Juarês Falcão was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. After 93 played minutes Genipapo SC got a freekick which was hit by Walmir Sanches. Genipapo SC's Renan Magalhães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cafu da Costa in the 96th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Genipapo SC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Pocoes had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
