Andrzej Rywin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Júlio Meireles in the 7th minute of play. In the 10th minute Tostão Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudinei Montenegro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Danilo Severo got free with Andrzej Rywin in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gualter Schmidt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Saracura TS's goalkeeper Claudinei Montenegro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rubinho de Salles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrzej Rywin having to interfere. In the 21st minute, Rubinho de Salles ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Andrzej Rywin was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. In the 25th minute, Saracura TS's Júlio Meireles ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Andrzej Rywin. Andrzej Rywin yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. The supporters of Saracura TS booed when Yugoslavia Legacy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teodoro Braga didn't get a good kick on the ball. 28 minutes into the match, Yugoslavia Legacy's goalkeeper Andrzej Rywin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carlinhos Queirós. Saracura TS's Claudinei Montenegro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gualter Schmidt in the 30th minute of play. After 32 played minutes Saracura TS got a freekick which was hit by Virgílio Paulista. In the 32nd minute of the match Richard Furlan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Claudinei Montenegro skillfully saved the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tostão Moura in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Claudinei Montenegro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Júlio Meireles stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Andrzej Rywin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Júlio Meireles, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. If Tostão Moura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 61st minute Júlio Meireles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrzej Rywin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tostão Moura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinei Montenegro having to interfere. Claudinei Montenegro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tostão Moura's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. If Gualter Schmidt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 69 minutes into the game, Igor Arósio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Saracura TS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Yugoslavia Legacy the free kick. After 69 played minutes Saracura TS got a freekick which was hit by Igor Arósio. Yugoslavia Legacy's Gualter Schmidt got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Tostão Moura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the Yugoslavia Legacy players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Saracura TS.
