Renan Magalhães didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jacinto Chaves went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 29th match minute, Genipapo SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sandrinho Barbosa to maneuver through the defense. Renan Magalhães came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by C. Atletico Pernabucano's Ernani Abraão. But to his dismay, Ernani Abraão quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 48th minute Jacinto Chaves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Renan Magalhães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

C. Atletico Pernabucano's Hernani Veiga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sandrinho Barbosa in the 60th minute of play. Sandrinho Barbosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Jacinto Chaves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Genipapo SC's Cafu Bittencourt got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. C. Atletico Pernabucano's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
