In the 4th minute, Frederico Paranaense got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 9 minutes, Vitinho Botelho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gil vicente's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vitinho Botelho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Zeca Tróia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jerônimo Varela in the 11th minute. Dráuzio Sanches sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zeca Tróia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vitinho Botelho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Coringa F.C's zone, Jerônimo Varela stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zeca Tróia came out of the goal and Jerônimo Varela tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Frederico Paranaense's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zeca Tróia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. Gilberto Ramos kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Frederico Paranaense got free with Zeca Tróia in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Coringa F.C's Zeca Tróia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jerônimo Varela in the 26th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Coringa F.C's Durvalino Hoffmann got a free kick in the 26th minute. When Frederico Paranaense came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Gil vicente fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frederico Paranaense couldn't finish the play. When Gil vicente's Vitinho Botelho in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The crowd rose to their feet as Gil vicente's Dráuzio Sanches slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Zeca Tróia. That made the score 1-0 after 35 minutes of play. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Coringa F.C's goalkeeper Zeca Tróia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 39 minutes of play, Gil vicente's Jerônimo Varela made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zeca Tróia was left in no man's land by his defense there! The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cássio Gonçalves made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Coringa F.C's goal looked a bit too open when José Carlos Arruda came free, but Zeca Tróia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Didi Carioca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Rômulo Lopez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rubinho Velasco charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rubinho Velasco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 58 played minutes Coringa F.C got a freekick which was hit by Rubinho Velasco. With 59 minutes on the clock, Cristian Camargo commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 59th minute of the game. One of Coringa F.C:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Gil vicente:s goal. Rui Britto walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. 64 minutes into the match, Vitinho Botelho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zeca Tróia. Coringa F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vitinho Botelho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Didi Carioca was extremely unlucky when he, in the 70th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After 76 played minutes Coringa F.C got a freekick which was hit by Edmílson Goiano. Rui Britto struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Zeca Tróia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gil vicente. A collision led to Gil vicente getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Jonas Borges hit a great ball. Frederico Paranaense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zeca Tróia having to interfere. In the 89th minute, Jerônimo Varela got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. José Carlos Arruda might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zeca Tróia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. José Carlos Arruda ran back to his position shaking his head. Rubinho Velasco hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. In the 97thth minute of the game Vitinho Botelho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Coringa F.C's Zeca Tróia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 98 minutes into the match, Coringa F.C's Didi Carioca sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rômulo Lopez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. There was no doubt that Gil vicente were the better team. Gil vicente's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
