Mazinho Paraense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jânio Pires, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Juventus's zone, Jânio Pires stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mazinho Paraense came out of the goal and Jânio Pires tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Juventus's Mazinho Paraense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andrézinho Ferraz in the 90th minute of play. Clemente Toscano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldir Lopez having to interfere. The Cavagnoli supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Juventus's performance. The match ended with a win for Juventus.
