After 42 minutes, Diogo Abreu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mneri Fc and the Amapa players grew even worse after the yellow card. It was beautiful to see Amapa's Luís Gustavo Saldanha in action when he in the 43rd minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ronaldo Freitas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Vitório Faria was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Giovani Meira came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Mneri Fc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Giovani Meira couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Amapa getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Luís Paulo Aparecido hit a great ball. A hard shot 85 in the game by Giovani Meira from a close distance when the talented Vitório Faria managed to make a qualified save. Amapa's players were relieved. Albertinho Sena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldo Salgado in the 93rd minute of play. Vitório Faria made an important save on a dangerous shot by Giovani Meira in the 95th minute.
