After a defensive mix-up in Cavagnoli's zone, Juarês Cruz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Waldir Lopez came out of the goal and Juarês Cruz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jânio Pires sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Marcinho Peixoto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cavagnoli's Andrézinho Ferraz got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Andrézinho Ferraz kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. After having played for 46 minutes, Juarês Cruz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Oratorio's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juarês Cruz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 47th match minute, Cavagnoli was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valdemar de Souza to maneuver through the defense. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Jânio Pires made the kick off in the second half. Cavagnoli's Waldir Lopez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Cavagnoli from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Andrézinho Ferraz in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Severino de Alcântara prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by André Teles during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Oratorio getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. André Teles hit a great ball. Severino de Alcântara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jânio Pires, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 62nd match minute, Oratorio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evaristo Penha to maneuver through the defense. Andrézinho Ferraz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severino de Alcântara having to interfere. Juarês Cruz struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Waldir Lopez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Oratorio. Severino de Alcântara didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jânio Pires went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Valdemar de Souza took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Severino de Alcântara. Severino de Alcântara dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Fábio Zanette received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Waldir Lopez came out and tried to block the shot, but Fábio Zanette slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 80th minute. Severino de Alcântara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andrézinho Ferraz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fábio Zanette recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 91 minutes of play, Oratorio's Juarês Cruz made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Waldir Lopez was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 95 minutes, Roger Rezende mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Oratorio and the Cavagnoli players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Cavagnoli booed when Oratorio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roger Rezende didn't get a good kick on the ball.
