Spectators: 6420 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1400, VIP seats: 20) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Bernardo Loyola got the match started through his kick off. Vágner Oliveira hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Fluminense FC's Gilmar França tried to score from far away in the 4th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Guaraniuva's Vágner Oliveira got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bernardo Loyola received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Régis Salles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Bernardo Loyola's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Régis Salles was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. In the 34th minute, one of Guaraniuva:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Guaraniuva. In the 42nd match minute, Guaraniuva was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horácio Sabóia to maneuver through the defense. 45 minutes into the match, Guaraniuva's goal looked a bit too open when Nilson Mendonça came free, but Donato da Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tony Alves hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nilson Mendonça to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Horácio Sabóia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 53 minutes into the game, Oscar Toledo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Donato da Costa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 58 minutes, Nilson Mendonça managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fluminense FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nilson Mendonça was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Bernardo Loyola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oscar Toledo in the 65th minute of play forced Guaraniuva's goalkeeper Donato da Costa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 67 played minutes Fluminense FC got a freekick which was hit by Nilson Mendonça. 4-0 became the score in the 69th minute when Nilson Mendonça elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Fluminense FC's zone, Bernardo Loyola stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Régis Salles came out of the goal and Bernardo Loyola tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 82nd minute, Fluminense FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Horácio Sabóia fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 83 minutes into the match, Alfredão Gomes notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Fluminense FC's Régis Salles. Régis Salles was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Guaraniuva getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Andrézinho Prestes hit a great ball. Donato da Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nilson Mendonça in the 93rd minute of the match. 95 minutes into the match, Horácio Sabóia dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Régis Salles, 4-2. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Fluminense FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Guaraniuva had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
