But to his dismay, Alfredão Gomes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 32nd match minute, Guaraniuva was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osvaldinho Rocha to maneuver through the defense. If Teodoro Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Horácio Sabóia came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Guaraniuva fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Horácio Sabóia couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Guaraniuva's goalkeeper Donato da Costa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Teodoro Alves scored 1-1 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Donato da Costa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alfredão Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Róbson Mello having to interfere. Dadá Pereira struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Donato da Costa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bar100lona. Alfredão Gomes took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Róbson Mello. Róbson Mello dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. In the 80th minute Bernardo Loyola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Róbson Mello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 85th match minute, Guaraniuva was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedrão Senna to maneuver through the defense. Joélson Madureira took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 85th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Donato da Costa. Guaraniuva's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Teodoro Alves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Donato da Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Guaraniuva's Donato da Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dadá Pereira in the 90th minute of play. Teodoro Alves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donato da Costa having to interfere. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind Guaraniuva's goalkeeper Donato da Costa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Guaraniuva's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
